What is a campaign planning template?
A campaign planning template is a structured project tracker that takes a marketing campaign from planning and research through prep, launch, and post-launch evaluation, with a built-in RACI chart so every task has a clear owner.
Instead of a campaign living across scattered docs and messages, it becomes one tracked plan with priority, dates, status, and who's Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, or Informed on each task.
What's inside the template?
The template covers six stages, each broken into specific tasks with a RACI column for accountability:
- Planning and research
- Campaign prep
- Marketing launch prep
- Pre-launch testing
- Actual launch
- Post-launch testing
How to use the template
Work through the stages in order, filling in what to include, priority, dates, and status for each task before moving to the next stage. Assign a RACI role to every task so there's no ambiguity about who's actually doing the work versus who just needs to know about it.
Treat it as a living tracker, not a one-time plan: update status and dates as the campaign progresses, and use it to spot what's overdue or on hold before it becomes a bigger problem.
